We can help you with effective WHMIS training that will assist your workforce to safely work with hazardous materials. Our WHMIS 2015 training session is a half-day in length and includes a hands-on review of Supplier and Workplace labelling, Safety Data Sheet information and a written Competency Check.
Our presentation uses PowerPoint, Videos and Hands-on Exercises to engage the learners. We include the WHMIS 2015: The Basics manual published by WorkSafeBC. The manual is available in English, French, Spanish, Punjabi, Korean and Chinese to assist workers whose first language is not English.
Classes can be conducted using Zoom or live at your worksite.
We can assist you by completing a full inventory of the WHMIS 2015 materials that are at your worksite and providing a current electronic file with the Safety Data Sheets for the materials found at your site.
If requested we can audit your WHMIS 2015 Program to determine your level of compliance and provide recommendations to bring your WHMIS 2015 program into full compliance.
All workers who work with or in the proximity of hazardous materials need to be WHMIS 2015 trained so they can take appropriate action to not be overly exposed to any hazardous materials.
According to the WorkSafeBC Occupational Health and Safety Regulation (OHSR) Part 3, Section 3.23, Subsection (2), Paragraph (l) WHMIS training shall be provided to all Young or New Workers who may be exposed to hazardous materials before they begin work in the workplace.
WHMIS training does not expire but workers can easily be evaluated by having each worker answer the following questions about the specific hazardous material they are working with.
If workers can not answer theses questions the either initial or refresher WHMSI 2015 is required.
To help with compliance we make available some documents that can make compliance easier.
